Dive Porn: Which Instagram Accounts To Follow

@alfredminnaarphotography

Oh my! I thought this was going to be an easy one to write. The problem, however, is twofold. Not only are there so many great scuba Instagrammers out there, but I’ve also been lost in a whirlpool of scrolling and double tapping. Beware, while this post might only be a 2-minute read, click a link and you’ll dive into the underwater world, be sucked down a gobi-hole and lose your mind to mermaids.

@laurentballesta

Where to start?
Haha, difficult. Depends a little on what you are looking for in your stream but @saltnomadsis as good a place as any. This account curates and delivers some of the best content out there which makes them a great place to discover other accounts to follow like @jferrara_photo and @georgekarbus. Likewise, follow @artofscuba, and you’ll discover accounts like @thomaspeschak and @waterdogphotography_brook
Also, remember the beauty of the # hashtag. Search for anything you are looking for preceded with the # and not only will you get a grid of the most popular and newest posts tagged with that moniker but you can now follow the hashtag too!

Arresting Imagery
There’s plenty out there but here’s a few to get you started:- @perrinjames1’s style is sleek and minimal with a cool blueness, @brianskerry imagery is loaded with personality, @alfredminnaarphotography somehow marries fashion magazine chic with diving and @ken_kiefer_underwater not only loves sharks but packs his stream with some stunning underwater ‘studio’ style shots.

Photography
I know Instagram is all about photography, but you can appreciate the imagery without picking up a camera. If you like the act itself though, check out @uwphotographyguide @scubashooters and @alexmustard1. All push through a great variety of shots bound to make you smile. Science and Conservation
Like scuba-grammers there are lots of conservation-istas out there; @queenofmantas and @simonjpierce have done some amazing work with manta rays and whale sharks. @paulnicklen’s account and his @sea_legacy stream go beyond scuba and include many stunning natural world images too. @shawnheinrichs is the founder of @bluespherefoundation; both accounts bring quality images as well as thought-provoking visuals.

@fredbuyle

Your Obsessions
@fredbuyle loves sharks, as does @reefhunter but if you’re all about the little guys, then @nudibranch.ia is where it’s at and @divecbr loves blackwater diving as well as the little things in life.

Know some more? I bet you do because there are a great many ‘grammers with some great feeds. If you’ve got to this point and I haven’t blown bubbles for your favorite virtual dive buddy then tell me in the comments.

Want to be featured on @internationaldiver#indiver and we’ll take a look 😉
